If you’re like me, you were planning to travel to so many new and fun destinations this year. While we may not be able to travel, we CAN look on the bright side. One way I like to “travel” when I’m not able to is by watching a movie! Some of the best travel movies showcase amazing cities or far-away destinations.
Now, I know this is nowhere close to the excitement of traveling but watching movies of other people traveling can be therapeutic. When all you want to do is go and explore, watching a movie can temporarily satisfy the urge. And, afterall, it’s really all we have right now!
Here are my top 10 best travel movies.

1. Last Holiday
I love this movie because it combines travel but also a sort of bucket list. The main character finally sets off on an adventure she’s always wanted to have because she thinks it’s her last chance.
The scenery is beautiful and I can’t wait to travel one day to the Grandhotel Pupp featured in the movie.
This is a great movie to watch with the whole family. It’s magical and inspiring and a great way to travel from your very own couch.
Can you say Bora Bora retreat?! Yes, please.
If you’ve read my article about my best movies of all time, you know how much I love this movie. It’s a beautiful story with even more beautiful wanderlust vibes.
5. Wine Country (Netflix)
Some of the best comedians and gorgeous views in Napa, California await you in this comedy. The scenery is so gorgeous you’ll want to start planning your girls trip while watching.
6. Girl’s Trip
Speaking of girls trip, this is one of my favorite movies! Complete with a powerhouse cast of some more of the best comedians/actresses of all time, this movie will have you planning your trip to New Orleans in no time.

A cute love story and beautiful views.
This movie is a classic for travel enthusiasts wanting to escape from the comfort of their own home. It’s the movie that inspired me to study Italian in college!
My love of travel and food combine in this great film about two competing restaurants in the French countryside. You’ll be ready to book a flight AND eat when you watch this movie.
10. Leap Year
It’s almost sad to admit how many times I’ve watched this film but I’m not even sorry.
Ever wondered what it feels like to travel to a far-away destination (in this case Ireland) and fall in love with a stranger even though you traveled to Ireland to propose to your boyfriend? No? Well, now you can!
